A few of them seemed unnecessary. Some were just signed "Suzanne," an old girlfriend and former coworker with whom he worked on a marketing project.
What he found was more than he bargained for. The messages didn't mention Suzanne, but they included a nude photo of her.
"I have to admit the first couple of times I was like, 'OK, is this a good joke or a bad joke?' It was a bit scary," Konnor said.
After seeing the photo a few more times, he became convinced that it wasn't a joke.
"I was definitely hurt," Konnor said. "I was in disbelief for a very long time."
Konnor, who has been with his girlfriend since she was 22, began trying to look up the woman's information.
He couldn't find the woman or her phone number at the company he worked for. When he tried calling his girlfriend's number, the caller was referred to the woman's cell phone. He contacted the woman and learned that she was in New York and was searching for a new job.
Konnor said he reached out to his girlfriend's friends. None of them knew who he was talking about.
"I kind of felt betrayed. He was talking about me, my family, my girlfriend," he said. "I wanted to know, and she had no clue."
The incidents haven't been easy to deal with.
"I know she wouldn't take a nude picture, let alone expose herself," he said. "It wasn't even supposed to be a sexual thing. It was just a freak thing."
And now, he doesn't know what to think.
"It's surreal," he said. "It's like, this could happen to anyone at any time.... I'm just looking for answers."
Friends and family say the incident seems to be out of character for Konnor, who, besides being a marketing coordinator, is also an assistant football coach for a high school team in Southern California.
"I would say there is something going on that I don't know about," said friend Marco Franco.
