A large-scale expansion downloadable content, Dragon Quest X: The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Ally Offline, featuring the same size story as that of the main game, will follow in spring 2022 for 4,440 yen.
Once the Intro is finished, the Dragon Quest X Launcher will appear and the rest of the game will start downloading. This will take a long time. The game is 20-25 gig and the servers are in Japan so the game downloads very slowly. Keep the Dragon Quest X launcher open to let the game download in the background. It might take hours.
The game play is aligned with all other Dragon Quest games which include the traditional RPG game play with elements of other contemporary MMORPGs. The player has access to an open-world environment which include random towns, enemies, quests and many secrets that lie hidden. With Dragon Quest X players are able to see the enemy on the map which they're able to choose to fight or flee. Players can also form groups with up to four other people. Like many other multiplayer games, there are quests and items to be found randomly and most players will begin their quest in starting areas. Each race has its own unique town in which the players are able to socialize, barter, investigate, and do as they will. Players can cross-play with others who are using a different platform.
The six races are Human, Ogre, Elf, Dwarf, Puklipo, and Weddie. Players will start as a human character, but after a certain point in the game, the character will become one of the other five races. In the upcoming third expansion of the game there will be a new dragon race added.
Hey guys, I just got the all in one package for versions 1 through 4 in the mail today, but the patching process is more or less non-existent it seems. The time continues to increase and it has only gone up 2% in the past 30 minutes or so. My speedtest shows it's roughly 130Mbps download and 32Mbps upload, so it should be downloading at a better speed than this. It starts off saying it only needs 11 minutes or so, then begins increasing more and more as time goes on.Right now, I'm staring at the client and it has already jumped up to needing 523 minutes, and it's still increasing. Does it eventually normalize or am I doing something wrong on my end I'm on the PC version, by the way. I already installed versions 1, 2, 3, and 4 earlier. I tried a VPN to see if that would help, but it didn't, unfortunately. It just continued to increase in time at a significant pace.Anyway! I guess it'll probably be best if I just leave it patching while I sleep overnight at this rate, huh I was hoping to play today, but I don't suppose I can just enjoy offline mode while I patch it, lol.EDIT: Ah, sorry! I'm an idiot. I forgot to mention I'm living in North America. Not sure if that actually has an impact on the patching process, but I should've mentioned it in my original post.EDIT2: I might've jumped the gun, lol. Seems the speed is finally starting to level out and the time is now hovering between 115-120 minutes, and I'm currently at 12%. I seem to recall FFXIV doing something similar as well whenever a new expansion comes out. It spits out some insane estimated time (like 2,000+ minutes), then after a while, it actually lowers and displays a more reasonable time, heh.Sorry for the trouble! You can delete this if you want!

By now many know that today Square Enix opened registrations for the Japanese beta of the PC version of Dragon Quest X: Mezameshi Itsutsu no Shuzoku Online. What not everyone knows is that the beta has actually started already, and it's an open beta, so everyone can register, download the game and play.
Luckily if you don't live in Japan there's still the extensive offline chapter to enjoy. To do so you don't even need to create a Square Enix account, you can just jump to the sections of this guide about downloading and installing the benchmark (if you want to try it) and downloading, installing and configuring the game.
Now that you have your new and shiny Japanese Square Enix account, it's time to get to the fun part. Yeah, we aren't nearly done. First of all you need to download the official benchmark. After downloading it, run the installer and follow the steps in the guide below.
The download version of the game will cost 3,990 yen on PC, and will come with a free trial for 20 days. Meanwhile, a Special Pack that will include a Dragon Quest-themed security token, a controller an illustration book, a world map and an item code, will cost 9,800 yen.
To download and install the client, the first thing you'll need to do is click this link to head back to the page we were on earlier. This time, scroll down until you see the yellow drop-down box seen below, and expand it so you can access the download button indicated in the following image:
This will begin downloading the installer for the client. If your browser marks the file as dangerous or your firewall blocks the download, disregard these warnings. After the download has completed, run the file and you'll be greeted with the installer:
Once you've downloaded both of them, navigate to the install location you chose for Dragon Quest X (by default, this will be C:\\Program Files (x86)\\SquareEnix\\DRAGON QUEST X). You will see two folders: Game and Boot.
