With any money left over from the initial investment, you've got to throw in some goodies for bonus games as well, and so the first third of this adventure sees Rayman and friends retrace their steps gamely throughout the world as they journey to try and help, exiling cracks in the dimensions, save the world from silly pigs, question the existence of an amnesiac clown, foil the evil plans of a mad scientist, escape the mad doctor's island, learn more about the legendary Mask of the Sapiens, stop Antoine Duval from becoming the new king of France, and much more besides. It makes for a very digestible and potentially addicting game that may well see plenty of replay value if there's anything left in the world after the main quest.
De Blob 2 was something of a surprise hit when released in 2009, offering exactly 95fps at full resolution and blowing our minds, as well as offering some extra content and some minor tweaks to the gameplay if you played the original. Well, according to Heron, this new game is essentially a porting job, complete with the full original graphics and gameplay intact, which means it's simply magnificent, and the fact that the new additions include online multiplayer, some new content and a night mode makes it an absolute must buy for seasoned Blobs and Rayman fans.
As usual, the psyche was brought back to life and then some, many times over in the sequel to the original. Goblin was back, along with the prest-game reasons why the game was so good - the ability to jump, run and the wondrous use of the console's analogue sticks. Within that, the platforming was also fine-tuned into something gorgeously tense, and there were more levels than in the original as well as new ways to lose a life, making for some extremely tense and challenging adventuring! (as is expected in all Ubisoft games though...). d2c66b5586
