There were no arrests as of late Monday, but police did release pictures of two men captured on video jumping on the police cruiser. They also released information about four vehicles allegedly involved in the stunts: A silver 2012 Chevrolet Camaro; a red 2013 Camaro; a white 2017 Ford Mustang and a red 2015 Dodge Challenger. Two were registered in New Orleans, one in Kenner and one in Baker, La.
Regules said drivers parked on the median and sat on their hoods to watch the car stunts that soon ensued, while others stopped traffic to clear the intersection. The group grew into a crowd, and the show went on for a \"good 30 minutes\" before the NOPD got to the scene, he said.
That incident was eerily similar to what happened in May on Lower Wacker Drive at Columbus Drive, when a driver did doughnuts and figure-eight stunts around spectators surrounded by a circle of burning gasoline.
York Regional Police announced a crackdown on stunt driving and street racing Wednesday, releasing new video of a recent incident in which a vehicle was caught on camera doing doughnuts and speeding along the shoulder of busy roadways.
Such takeovers involve a number of motorists who unlawfully block a street or an intersection so their peers can illegally street race or perform risky vehicle stunts such as doughnuts and burnouts. They often box in other hapless drivers.
In recent months, Chatsworth residents have told the Daily News that motorists have repeatedly blocked off the intersection of Mason Avenue and Plummer Street with cones or vehicles. This is to allow their associates to do stunts for up to 30 minutes at a time on weekend nights.
Amnesty International has staged a car-driving stunt outside the Saudi Arabian Embassy in central London this morning to highlight a crackdown on women's rights activists in the country which has seen several leading human rights defenders detained for 100 days without charge.
The crackdown began shortly before Saudi Arabia lifted the ban on women driving in the country. Many of the activists detained campaigned for the right to drive and the end of the repressive male guardianship system in Saudi Arabia for many years. The crackdown comes despite Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman presenting himself as a \"reformer\" in recent months. His international public relations campaign contrasts sharply with an intensifying crackdown in the country, including those campaigning for equal rights for women. Amnesty is calling for an end to all forms of discrimination against women in Saudi Arabia, including the guardianship system.
The New York Police Department announced last week it would be renewing a crackdown on reckless drivers, according to Fox 5 NY. The NYPD impounded over 3,000 ATV and dirt bike vehicles in 2021, the department said.
The Metro Police Department in Washington's chase policy prohibits officers from chasing these vehicles, which some believe has encouraged more riders to do wheelies and perform other stunts on city streets. But the MPD also has a policy that offers a $250 reward to people whose information leads to the successful identification of the driver/operator of the illegal ATV or dirt bike and the confiscation of the vehicle.

The Dallas Police Department has been trying to crack down on instances of street racing and stunts. In July, officers issued 59 spectator citations and made 96 misdemeanor arrests related to racing and speeding activity, according to the department's crime statistics.
A sideshow has been defined for law enforcement purposes for the first time thanks to the new law: Two or more persons blocking or impeding traffic on a highway, for the purpose of performing motor vehicle stunts, motor vehicle speed contests, motor vehicle exhibitions of speed, or reckless driving, for spectators. These activities often lead to street racing after the show. 1e1e36bf2d
