I bought one of those real tone cables to replace the one from non real tone that came with Rocksmith. Is that the one you are talking about? I gave it a shot even though i see a few people have had issues with the cable. I got the same thing you get with the error 10 or something like that along with "There is not a valid application in this folder". What folder? There is nothing in the program folder. It launches fine. Maybe there is something that is not compatible with a sierra 10.11.1 mac. Any suggestions for this "problem"?
As far as I am aware the real tone cable uses mute slots (as opposed to the old metal fence) and the slots are silver in color. But the cable can be hard to tell. I have a blue cable (I think) that came with the package and a silver cable that came with the real tone software (I think). Perhaps the real tone software can tell you. I don't know.
I wonder if AptioNet changed their protocol somewhere, though, because the a lot of software I had used with older drivers is down. I had to reset the controller and that was working fine until I noticed that a USB-C adapter would not work, even though it would work fine with the old controller (a big problem for me since I usually use a MacBook Pro and it doesn't have USB-C). I suspect that the installer did not need to use the aio driver, which is what I can only assume the default driver in Mac OS is.
From what I understand, is simply having the cable plugged in as you install the software is all you need to do to make it work. I am running OS 10.11.3 on an early 2011 Macbook. I've installed the Rockyou program and tried playing a song several times, always getting the error 10 or error hocksmith. Did I miss something when installing the Cables? I did the installation using the disk that came with me, I did not dowload the Rocksmith 2014 release of my Mac.
