to change the name and PIN you need to use AT commands and AT commands cannot be sent over the bluetooth connection. They can only be sent over the serial connection using the RX and TX pins. This means you need to use an Arduino (or something similar) to change the modules properties.

We also have signal wires Transmit (> TXD) and Receive (< RXD). I connected a Yellow wire to the (> RXD) of the bluetooth module and connected the other end of the wire to (Tx) Pin 18 of the Arduino Mega. I then connected a Blue wire to the (< TXD) of the bluetooth module and the other end of the Blue wire to (Rx) Pin 19 of the Arduino Mega. Remember Transmit goes to Receive and Receive goes to Transmit If you get these reversed to Bluetooth Module will not be able to communicate with the Arduino.
