Once Geralt has collected every card that can be purchased and acquired through texts, the remaining cards will be won through matches with various NPC's throughout The Witcher 3. Every region has a limit on how many cards can be won, so if Geralt stops receiving cards for playing, it's time to move to a different region. Use A MIraculous Guide To Gwent to get an idea of where Geralt stands. Look for armorers, blacksmiths, innkeeps, and all merchants as possible partners for matches.
This guide will show players where to find all missable items in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, covering items found in both the main quest and in side quests, allowing fans to unlock unique Gwent cards, powerful upgrades, and special dialogue options.

It displays the number of gwent cards that may still be won or looted from unique players, or purchased in each of the base game's regions, as well as the number of cards that may still be won from generic merchants or craftsmen anywhere in the base game's world. This book may effectively be used as a counter to gauge progress of the quest Collect 'Em All, but it does not provide specific information about the locations of gwent cards beyond the region in which they can be found.
This books was added as of Patch 1.21. It displays number of gwent cards missing from player's base-game collection and information on where to find them, thus facilitating completion of the quest titled Collect 'Em All. The tome in question can be obtained either from the gwent-playing scholar in the Prologue or from the merchant near St. Gregory's Bridge in the Gildorf district of Novigrad.
Im not sure I seriously didnt even bother buying that card from her cause it seemed stupid that would be unique. I got 2 of her 4 carda, thats all I had money for. I found a bunch of ppl selling cards everywhere on the world and played a bunch of ppl already but I still havent found another catapult, even tough half the ppl I play against have one.
Can anyone confirm if you can still get this trophy if you didn't buy gwent cards from Elsa (inkeeper White Orchard) at the start I didn't have the money then and now she's gone, can I still get it now or not
If you're already a huge fan of Gwent like myself, then you have most likely collected every card in the game already. If you're new to it all however, then I am going to tell you where and how to find 10 very powerful cards that are essential when building your decks.
This is where things start to get a bit tougher. The following cards can only be acquired by completing Gwent-specific quests, which means you will have to defeat much tougher opponents with stronger decks.
Okay, now whereas White Orchard and the Royal Palace were kind of polite in only making you do a few things for cards, Velen is where it gets ramped up. Velen is one of the game's very large areas, covering a huge open landscape, numerous villages and boroughs, and also includes the fairly decently sized city of Oxenfurt.Throughout Velen, and Oxenfurt, there are numerous sellers selling very specific cards (which will be mentioned) and a large number of opportunities to play merchants and other crafters to get a card from the random card pool. Velen also offers the first Gwent specific quest, which has unique and powerful cards tied to it.Two of the merchants/crafters you can defeat in Velen are, annoyingly, not in their respective locations when the game begins, but they are marked on the map where they should be. A lot of people on the Internet freaked out about this, including myself at first, but they are both there, you must just complete a task to get them. Fear not, friend, as details will be included about each in the roadmap. Now that you are beginning the arduous task of defeating random merchants/crafters for random cards, you will notice sometimes that a person is not where they should be, even if they are marked on the in-game map, such as a blacksmith not being at his anvil. Worry not; simply meditate for a while and repeat this until they appear. Sometimes they will not talk to you, so just repeat the previously mentioned meditation method. Also ensure you are trying to talk to the correct person; sometimes a map may say a blacksmith in village X, and said village may have two blacksmiths beside each other, and only one plays Gwent. So just be careful.Credit to gosunoob for map. 781b155fdc
